Renaming user does not change sender name

Hello Domino people,

An user has been created on our Domino server with an error in his name. 

A rename has been done (using the Rename part in People & Groups on the Domino Administrator). 

It appears correctly in the address book, but inside the user mail nsf, the name still appears with the error, and when the user sends an email, it shows : 

From : Bad_user_name

To : Me

Send by : Good_user_name

We have two Domino servers (1 per site), and the replication seems to have worked.

It drives me crazy, as I'm not used to Domino, and that everything I try seems to fail.

Can you do it?

I used to have a working solution with Office 2003 but it's not working with Windows 10 & Office 2016 x64 (Outlook 2016 x64). Does anybody have a solution?

We want to move from Domino to Exchange, but in first step I want (at least for me) to connect my Outlook 2016 x64 to my Domino Account to get mails and stuff...

sametime public group subscription pending

Hi all,

how to approve subscription for other server? let say I have public group A is for server A and public group B is for server B. Inside sametime server B can see both public group B and public group A, but sametime for server A can see public group A but has pending subscription for public group B.

DWALogin and redirect

Hi all,

Im upgrading from Lotus Domino 8.5.3 to IBM Domino 9.0.1. Im done fixing databse view and upgrade mail template. the only one left is when I restart back HTTP server, the login form and redirect design still remain same as 8.5.3. Do I need to remove old iwaredir.nsf and create new iwaredir.nsf ? or just use compact command to update the design?

Domino Server Upgrade

Got a question in regards to cost in upgrading our Domino environment...

So i'm not a big domino person but I manage a Domino environment and looking at upgrading OS of our 3 domino servers....

Currently running a domino cluster on 2x2008r2 servers. (9.0.1FP4)
Also have a 3rd 2003 server (legacy) but this is running
This 3rd server is running things like our recertify certificate... some pop services (which we still use) and various other hidden features.. all on release 7.0.4

Is 24 hours of labor a reasonable quote for completing this work?
Obviously there is some unknown here, but is Domino that hard to migrate to new server OS?

Acquire command output in a file from remote Lotus Domino server

I have few Lotus Domino 8.5.3 FP6 Mail Server Application installed on Windows 2008 R2 OS in my company. Currently I uses Lotus Domino Admin client GUI to access servers for admin purposes.

Is there any way I can acquire various command output in a file by using some batch/bash/cmd scripts commands remotely?

Example I want to get output of command "tell sav info" from my MAILSRV01 , using my workstation cmd ? I tried the command [nserver.exe -c "tell sav info"] or other commands, but it never return any output.

Lotus Traveler lost Sent Folder

Hi, we upgraded to 9.0.1.x over the Xmas period.  Some users are now experiencing issues where the Sent folder has disappeared.

I have tried the basic reboot, traveler fixup commands, but it still not fixed. My biggest problem is running Compact -C against the mail users, because they have so many devices one is always connected :( so it usually fails.

Anyone got any ideas?

Domino Cluster Connection

Hi All,

I'm currently working on Domino cluster testing. I setup my testing cluster like this, I create a new domino for 192.168.1.58 Mail/ABC ( mail.abci.com.my) as primary Domino and for secondary is I installed a additional server using 192.168.1.68 MailBCK/ABC ( mailbck.abc.com.my). From primary will push all database to secondary and secondary will pull database from the primary domino. From my primary console show that the domino cannot find secondary cluster but from secondary I can find and trace primary server. I also tried trace secondary server from primary result is negative. It is normal ? since I can ping using cmd from primary to secondary and vice versa.

Notes ID not updating/add to IDVault after a successful certifier move request

Hi,

I have problem with IDVault, it not updating/ adding a successful name move request as admin4 shown no error on "name move request".

I have been doing name move to other certifier request on Domino, usually after several days the vault.nsf will add a new name: someone/newOrganization.

the server Mail01/Org have so many /Org inside /Org1 to /Org12

couples of months ago we have move all mail.nsf to another server Mail02 and repicate it to Mail03. so Vault.nsf still on mail01 and no mail.nsf inside. and if i create a new person, vault.nsf still will add that new person. Everything seems well. yesterday a person request for his id, and i can't extract it from vault because no such name.

how can i retrieve the ID with current situation? because the old id can't be used anymore. id said not authorized.

why is the vault not updating?

Warning Dialog on Hyperlink Click for Lotus Notes 8.5 or 9.0

Greetings All!

So I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if Domino Lotus Notes has the feature baked in, where I can setup a dialog box that warns the user if "They are sure" that they want to proceed with clicking on a hyperlink to open a page/site in a web browser? Hence, it's a feature in Outlook of course, and I've poked around in the option, yet found nothing in Notes 8.x and the new 9.x.

Additionally, if it doesn't have such a feature, I was wondering if could just build out something via JavaScript in terms of my own alert(), since Notes does allow JS interaction. Any thoughts? Thanks.

mail auto move to trash

Hi All,

I have one user currently facing a problem which her mail will automatically move to trash folder and deleted after sometime. I checked on the user mail rule, seems no rule are created, but the mail keep on going to trash. Is this related to databases or inbox corrupted?

*For trash auto delete I already configure to 120 hours which is 5 days.

A Notes 9 user when tries to attach a file from shared drive, notes crashes. Whenever she opens a new memo, clicks on the attach file option and then navigates to the folder in the shared drive, mere opening the folder in that dialog box crashes her notes. If she changes the folder name to something else, it works fine but the name shouldn't be changed. I have checked and found that the folder is accessible normally and a notes reconfiguration did not fix the issue. Is this related to notes or windows? Please advise.

I have Lotus Domino 8.5.3 FP6 installed on Windows 2008 R2 with following folders structure.

  • D:\LOTUS\DOMINO\DATA\MAIL   > 500 GB , users inbox
  • D:\LOTUS\DOMINO\DATA\MAIL\ARCHIVE > 1000 GB , users archived mails

Archiving policy is enabled/done on the server end on a weekly basis, which moves 1 year old email from the inbox to archive. Space is getting low in D: partition therefore I have added new drive (E:) and wants to move user email Archives to new partition E:\ARCHIVE

  • What is the best method to move Archives to new partition?
  • What modifications would be required in configuration ?
  • I also have replica of this server. will this affect replica in any way?

Where does Lotus Notes resolve addresses

Here is the problem:  We have a corporate e-mail address that pulls from a list on the server then sends out.  We had an employee move from a contract position to one back in the main office.  The Senior VP sent out an e-mail to the corporate e-mail and the moved employee's e-mail was resolved to the old contract address.

I've checked the server's names.nsf file and it's correct.  The employee no longer has a forwarding address in their record.  So, where is the name resolving from?  Is it a hanger on in the VP's Recently Contacted file?
